About Us
The Papua New Guinea Kickboxing Federation (PNGKBF) was established in 1997 under the leadership of world champion Stanley Nandex. It is affiliated with the World Kickboxing Federation (WKF) and has grown into a national body with clubs and associations across multiple provinces. PNGKBF promotes the sport through national tournaments, training programs, and youth outreach initiatives aimed at building discipline, reducing social issues like drug abuse, and empowering young people through sport.

In recent years, PNGKBF has hosted several major events, including the 2025 National Trial Championship and an international competition themed “PNG vs the Rest of the World.” The federation has also been nominated to host the 61st World Kickboxing Championships in 2026 — a major milestone that could bring international recognition and economic benefits to the country. PNGKBF continues to expand its reach, recently affiliating new provincial clubs in the Highlands and Islands regions to strengthen grassroots participation.

Despite its achievements, PNGKBF faces challenges such as limited funding, logistical constraints, and governance disputes with rival groups claiming legitimacy. However, it remains the most recognized kickboxing body under WKF. The federation’s programs present strong opportunities for partnership and sponsorship — especially in youth development, data management, and sports promotion — making it a valuable partner for organizations and companies looking to invest in community and sport development across Papua New Guinea.
